What is the opposite of a gun?

A classroom erupts into a war of words as students grapple with this seemingly simple question in my and Anna Samo’s adaptation of “The Opposites Game” by Brendan Constantine. Entirely hand-crafted by Anna and myself, the animation is drawn in 9 hand-painted volumes of Emily Dickinson’s poetry and was stop motion animated in our two studios.

Since its premiere in 2019, “The Opposites Game” has screened at 60+ film and international animation festivals and has won more than a dozen awards, including Best Animated Short at Raindance Film Festival, which qualified it for the Academy Awards.
